  • No, it’s not mandatory, but highly recommended. You can start with IR if that better aligns with your current practice. However, please note that an understanding of the STOTT PILATES® basic principles acquired through mat-based Pilates practice greatly facilitates learning on the Reformer.

That said, these two training programs can be taken in whatever order works best for you.

  • Contact us and we will send you the instructor training program in PDF format.

  • No, it is possible to take only the Intensive Reformer training, provided you meet the prerequisites: possessing anatomical knowledge and having at least 30 hours of practice on the Reformer.

  • No, physical attendance is required for the entire course.

  • You must schedule an appointment with our certified instructor trainer for a reinstatement session. Depending on how long you’ve been inactive, you’ll need to take between 1 and 3 hours of private instruction.

  • No, it’s not necessary. During your classes at Connexion Pilates, you’ll have access to the equipment. However, to complete your mandatory 40 hours of physical review, you will need to have access to a Reformer. You can either take classes at a studio or rent time on a machine. To teach once certified, you will need to find work in a studio equipped with Reformers.

  • Demand is very high! Specialized Pilates studios are actively seeking certified Reformer instructors, as it is the most popular and sought-after piece of equipment in studios. The Intensive Reformer (IR) certification offers opportunities in high-end professional settings and often allows you to command higher rates than for mat-based classes. By combining the Intensive Mat-Plus and Intensive Reformer training programs, you increase both your employment opportunities and your earning potential.
